Strawberry Cream Cheese Rolls

Strawberry Rolls with Cream Cheese – perfect for a weekend breakfast or brunch. Delicious sweet rolls with scrumptious strawberry jam and rich cream cheese icing.

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup strawberries, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Glaze (optional):

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Prepare the Dough:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Add in the milk and melted butter. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it a few times until it comes together. Roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.

Prepare the Filling:

  1. In a separate bowl, mix together the chopped strawberries, softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread the filling evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges.

Form the Rolls:

  1. Starting from the long side, carefully roll the dough into a log.
  2. Slice the log into 6 equal pieces using a sharp knife.
  3. Place the rolls into a greased baking dish, leaving some space between each roll.

Bake:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Glaze (optional):

  1. While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
  2. Once the rolls are out of the oven and slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.
